New European Project: PULLNano - PULLing the limits of NANOcmos electronics (PULLNano)

AMO takes part in THE European semiconductor industry collaborative project, sponsored by the European Commission under the IST FP6 contract. PULLNano started in 2006 as a continuation of the distinguished NanoCMOS project (launched in 2004). The project is focussed on advanced research and technology activities necessary to develop the 32nm and 22nm NanoCMOS technology node and their successors, opening the way to the long term future of CMOS based technologies.

The consortium unites 35 partners in 12 countries: 5 semiconductor companies, 3 industry-oriented research institutions, 19 Academia and 4 SME. PULLNANO receives a funding of overall 25 million €, whereas 50% of the funding is intended for research institutions and academic partners, 6% for SME.

Many of today’s society’s needs (communication, health, security, education, etc.) could not be met without electronic systems providing large computational and data storage power. Affordable leading edge products require leading edge technology, enabling both, productivity as well as performance gains.

AMO’s part within this project is to provide its advanced NanoCMOS prototyping platform and its highly developed measurement techniques.
