AMO AND ZBT LAUNCH NEW RESEARCH PROJECT PROTONLY
New generation of proton transfer membranes for regenerative energy systems
AMO and ZBT just launched the project PROTONLY. The project‘s aim is the development of a new type of membrane for regenerative energy systems including transducers & storage utilizing 2D materials.
In particular, the project targets the reduction or suspension of unwanted diffusion of fuels in fuel cells and metal ions in batteries without hampering the proton transfer. The membranes are expected to make a significant contribution towards efficiency, lifetime and economic viability of sustainable energy systems.
The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) through the INNO-COM program.
