Foundation of Johannes-Rau-Forschungsgemeinschaft
AMO GmbH is one of 13 non-university NRW research institutions of the “Johannes-Rau-Forschungsgemeinschaft”.
On April 2, 2014 the “Johannes-Rau-Forschungsgemeinschaft” (JRF) has been founded with a ceremonial act in “Villa Horion” in Düsseldorf. AMO is one of the scientific members.
In attendance of Christina Rau, widow of deceased Johannes Rau (former NRW Prime Minister and later on Federal President) and Minister of Science Svenja Schulze, the JRF has been founded.
The JRF is the new umbrella group for 13 legally independent non-university research institutions with more than 1000 employees in North Rhine Westphalia. The future cooperation in interdisciplinary research projects as well as in the education of young academics and public relations should be strengthened. The constant evaluation should be operated with uniform quality standards.

- Institut für unterirdische Infrastruktur (Gelsenkirchen)
- Salomon Ludwig Steinheim-Institut für deutsch-jüdische Geschichte (Essen)
- Stiftung Zentrum für Türkeistudien und Integrationsforschung (Essen)
- Wuppertal Institut für Klima, Umwelt, Energie (Wuppertal)
- Zentrum für Brennstoffzellentechnik (Duisburg)
Chairman of the Johannes-Rau-Forschungsgemeinschaft is the scientific leader of the “Institut für Energie- und Umwelttechnik” (IUTA), Prof. Dr. Dieter Bathen.
