AMO relaunched flexible foundry services for customized wafer runs at ECIO 2017

This year the ECIO 2017 (European Conference on Integrated Optics) took place from April 03-05, 2017 at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. AMO relaunched the flexible foundry services platform for silicon and silicon nitride photonics. Besides the poster presentation of the newly developed processes and devices, AMO also showed fabricated nanophotonics devices at the exhibition also hosted by ECIO.

Especially 16×1 MUX/DEMUX devices based on silicon photonics developed within the EU-FP7 project SPIRIT were presented at the booth. Furthermore, for the first time we showed wafers produced by the 6’’ silicon nitride process line with photonic-plasmonic cavities for sensing application developed in the H2020 project PLASMOfab.

Customized wafer runs as offered by AMO are an ideal addition to MPW (multi project wafers) offered by most silicon photonic foundries. Our specialized technology processes for nanophotonics can adapted to the customer requirement in flexible process flows.
