The Digital Hardware Hub Aachen is a project proposed by AMO GmbH as a measure to support the transition to a coal-free economy in the Rhine region. The goal is to establish a central infrastructure for nanotechnology to support start-ups and SMEs in the high-tech sector.
Nanotechnology can reduce the energy costs of wastewater treatment processes and make direct water-reuse both technically and economically feasible – a goal targeted by AMO and partners in the BMBF-project PEPcat (“Energy-efficient advanced oxidation for removal of organic substances in wastewater through plasmonically enhanced photocatalysis”).
