An interview with Max Lemme over the Future-Cluster NeuroSys

In a video interview for the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of RWTH Aachen University, Prof. Max Lemme explains the vision behind the Future-Cluster NeuroSys, the role of neuromorphic hardware in shaping the future of artificial intelligence applications, and the necessity of addressing not only the technical aspects, but also the socio-economic implications of this new technology, to ensure that it conforms “by design” with European values.

“The Cluster should not be seen as a static institution, but as one in continuous evolution”, says Lemme. “This means that we are naturally open for other actors, from science and industry, which would like to contribute to our vision. For instance, through other projects that can be integrated into the Cluster. We have already a consistent list of EU projects related to complex artificial intelligence. And we have centers such as the Aachen Graphene and 2D Materials Center, the RWTH AI-Center and the Human-Technology Center. All these projects and Centers contribute to Cluster and make it so much more than research projects funded by the Cluster itself.
