Institutional visit to Piedmont

Prof. Max Lemme has visited Piedmont as part of an industry/academic delegation headed by Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW).

The visit, initiated by Piedmont’s councilor for industry, Andrea Tronzano, had the aim of contributing to developing common relationships and policies in the microelectronics sector between NRW and Piedmont, one of the most industrialized regions in Italy. Regions can play a crucial role in supporting the EU Chip Act by promoting collaboration of their ecosystems to sustain the semiconductor value chain across Europe.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to discuss the importance of our field for Europe at such a high political level”, says Lemme, “The visit to the Mesap Innovation Cluster and the Piemonte Quantum Enabling Technology (PiQuET) Lab was also an opportunity to discuss best practices for industry-academic collaborations with our Italian colleagues, such as our regional Cluster4Future NeuroSys.”

Follow-up meetings are already scheduled.
