Federico Fabrizi Awarded Research Fellowship

We are pleased to announce that Federico Fabrizi has been awarded a prestigious fellowship from the Heinrich Hertz Foundation. The fellowship supports a three-month research stay at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore—one of the world’s leading institutions in fundamental sciences and engineering.

During his time at NTU, Federico is working in the research group of Prof. Cesare Soci. His work focuses on developing innovative strategies for cost-effective, low-threshold lasers that can be monolithically integrated into silicon-based photonic circuits.

A central aspect of his project involves the use of nanoscale metasurfaces made from methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI₃)—a light-emitting perovskite material. These are to be incorporated into electrically driven light-emitting transistors to realize so-called polariton lasers—a highly promising yet technically demanding technology at the forefront of modern photonics.

We warmly congratulate Federico on this achievement and wish him an exciting and successful research experience in Singapore!
