Dr.-Ing. Ardeshir Esteki Successfully Completes PhD at RWTH Aachen University

On July 8th, 2025, Ardeshir Esteki successfully defended his doctoral thesis titled “Enhanced Performance in Two-Dimensional Materials-Based Devices Through Dielectric Integration by Plasma-Enhanced Atomic Layer Deposition” at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at RWTH Aachen University.

His research focused on transistors based on two-dimensional materials as well as graphene/silicon Schottky diodes. By integrating dielectrics using plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD), he was able to significantly improve the performance of these devices.

The experimental work was carried out in close collaboration with AMO GmbH and was further enriched by a research stay at imec in Leuven, where Ardeshir Esteki is now continuing his scientific career.

We warmly congratulate him on his successful PhD defense and wish him all the best for the next steps in his academic journey. The path to a doctorate is long and demanding—but with its completion, a new chapter begins, full of exciting challenges and opportunities.
