Recognition for AMO Research: Publication Selected as an Editor’s Pick by Optica

Our latest scientific publication has been selected as an Editor’s Pick by Optica Publishing Group. The article, titled “Propagation Loss of Monolayer MoS₂ on Si₃N₄ Waveguides at Wavelengths from 1520 nm to 1620 nm” and published in Optical Materials Express, examines how atomically thin MoS₂ interacts with established Si₃N₄ photonic platforms. The findings provide important insights into the integration of two‑dimensional materials into low‑loss optical circuits, marking a significant step toward future on‑chip photonic technologies.

The study enhances our understanding of how 2D materials can be practically incorporated into existing photonic architectures and sheds light on the interaction between materials and waveguides. This progress represents a meaningful advance toward new, high‑performance optical components.

We congratulate the entire author team — Avinash Kumar (first author), Stephan Suckow, Daniel Schneider, Bartos Chmielak, Rijil Thomas and Max Lemme — on this recognition. We also thank Optica Publishing Group for highlighting our work and supporting innovative research in optical materials.
