Technology Transfer and Deep-Tech in Focus at AMO

24. July 2026

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Bastian Hartmann, spokesperson for science policy of the SPD parliamentary group in the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Johannes Rau Research Foundation (JRF), together with Eva Schmitz and Raphael Jonas from IHK Aachen, to AMO.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas on technology transfer, innovation, and the future of deep-tech technologies in the Aachen region. We shared insights into our work and discussed how scientific breakthroughs can be successfully translated into industrial applications and market-ready technologies.

A particular focus of the discussions was the role of the NeuroSys Cluster in strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem. Together, we explored how strong collaborations between research institutions, industry, and policymakers can accelerate the transfer of new technologies and contribute to the long-term competitiveness of the region.

We sincerely thank our guests for their visit and the inspiring discussions. Exchanges like these are essential for fostering collaboration between science, industry, and policymakers and for driving innovation forward in our region.
