Together for a Strong AI Hub in Aachen

29. August 2026

Artificial intelligence reaches its full potential when different areas of expertise come together. That is why we are pleased to be part of the AI Alliance Aachen and to contribute our expertise in microelectronics, photonics, and neuromorphic computing to this growing network.

Developing innovative AI solutions requires close collaboration between science, research, industry, start-ups, and public administration. This diversity is one of Aachen’s key strengths. Universities, research institutions, and companies work together to accelerate the transfer of findings from fundamental research into market-ready technologies and practical applications.

The AI Alliance Aachen is designed to further strengthen this collaboration. The network brings together stakeholders from different disciplines, promotes knowledge exchange, creates new opportunities for cooperation, and supports the development of a shared vision for Aachen as an AI hub. Its aim is to accelerate the transfer of innovation into practice and sustainably strengthen the region’s competitiveness.

As a research partner in pioneering hardware technologies, AMO sees significant potential in combining artificial intelligence with novel electronic and photonic systems. Advances in microelectronics, integrated photonics, and neuromorphic hardware are key building blocks for the next generation of powerful and energy-efficient AI applications.

The AI Alliance Aachen brings together a strong and diverse network of companies, research institutions, universities, and public organizations. Together, the partners are working to develop new ideas, combine expertise, and further strengthen the region’s innovative capacity.

We are proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to working with the partners of the AI Alliance Aachen to accelerate the transfer of research into real-world applications and actively shape the future of AI technologies.
