Aachen Semiconductor Delegation Strengthens International Networks in Korea and Taiwan
International exchange plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the semiconductor industry. We are therefore delighted that AMO was part of the Aachen delegation visiting South Korea and Taiwan, two of the world’s most important locations for semiconductor technologies.
Representing AMO, Dr. Jimin Lee, a graduate of the Chair of Electronic Devices (ELD) at RWTH Aachen University, took part in the discussions and events on site. With her expertise in semiconductor devices and technologies, she represented AMO and contributed valuable scientific and technological perspectives to the international exchange.
The delegation’s first stops were in South Korea, where the program included in-depth discussions with companies, industry associations, and experts from the Korean semiconductor ecosystem. The exchange provided valuable insights into current technological developments while also opening up new opportunities for cooperation and future partnerships. The numerous meetings highlighted the considerable potential of closer connections between the innovation ecosystems in Europe and Asia.
The delegation then continued its journey to Taiwan. As one of the world’s leading semiconductor hubs, Taiwan offers an exceptionally dynamic environment for research, development, and industrial innovation. The meetings provided an opportunity to establish new contacts, strengthen existing relationships, and present the Rhenish mining area as an attractive location for investment, innovation, and growth.
For AMO, the delegation trip was a valuable opportunity to expand international networks, gain first-hand insights into current developments in the global semiconductor industry, and strengthen exchange with leading stakeholders across the semiconductor value chain. Such international connections are an important foundation for jointly developing next-generation technologies and further strengthening Europe’s position as a semiconductor innovation hub.
We would like to thank all hosts, partners, and organizers for the open exchange and valuable insights. We look forward to continuing and further developing the new collaborations established during the delegation trip.
