Förderkennzeichen Grant ID: 101291171
Reliable monitoring of greenhouse gases and refrigerants is an important component of climate and environmental protection. The European research project TITAN is developing a new generation of miniaturized gas sensors based on integrated silicon photonics. The aim is to integrate conventionally discrete infrared sensing systems onto a single chip, enabling compact, high-performance, and cost-effective sensor solutions.
The consortium consists of Senseair (Sweden) as project coordinator, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Paragraf (United Kingdom), and AMO GmbH (Germany). The partners combine their expertise in gas sensing, silicon photonics, graphene technology, and system integration to develop highly integrated gas sensors for future applications. TITAN builds on the results of the successful EU projects ULISSES and AEOLUS, taking the next step towards market-ready, highly integrated gas sensing systems.
Within TITAN, AMO develops and fabricates the silicon photonic sensor chips and integrates graphene-based mid-infrared emitters as a key component of the future sensor platform.
