Success stories

AMOTRONICS

AMOtronics is the first spin-off company supported by AMO. Founded in 2010, AMOtronics develops advanced measurement solutions and control systems. The company’s test and analysis solutions are in use worldwide in a wide range of research and industrial projects in the energy, aerospace, automotive and defence sectors.

PROTEMICS

Founded in 2014, Protemics is a spin-off from AMO and RWTH Aachen University. Protemics develops ultrafast photoconductive terahertz spectroscopy systems for non-destructive measurement applications. Protemics stands for innovative, customer-oriented products and services beyond the limits of conventional THz imaging.

Black Semiconductor

Founded in 2019, Black Semiconductor is the latest startup spun off from AMO. The company’s goal is to initiate a paradigm shift in chip technology by manufacturing and marketing microchips with integrated electronic-photonic circuits. Such a chip can be up to 10,000 times more powerful than today’s chips and enable artificial intelligence at a new level. Black semiconductor heavily builds on AMO’s expertise in CMOS technology, photonic-chip development, and pioneering work on graphene electronics.
