Our nanophotonics group is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher / Group Leader in
Integrated Photonics for Quantum Computing

Location: Aachen | Group: Photonics | full/part time

Your tasks:

• Establishing and further developing the research group
• Independently conducting research on Integrated Photonics for Quantum Computing (process development, device design, characterization, high-level publications)
• Leading a team of PhD candidates and Master students
•  Coordinating and reporting work within different projects, towards funding agencies, project partners, the scientific community and the general public
• Foster collaborations with RWTH Aachen University

■ Driving forward digitalization, optimizing existing HR processes and contributing to projects for the ongoing development of the HR area

■ Supervising, advising and supporting employees in all HR-related matters

■ Preparation of contracts, certificates and attestations

■ Organization of the administrative area of applicant management

• Payment transactions via EDP system with automatic posting
• Processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and fixed asset accounting
• Support in the standardization and digitalization of processes

Your tasks:

• Take over the project management within the project for the renewal of the IT infrastructure
• Communication interface between external service providers, internal project team and the business departments

Our nanophotonics group is offering a Master Thesis on the characterization of integrated wavemeters.

Your Tasks :

■ Systematic study of wavelength measurement devices (Wavemeters) fabricated at AMO

■ Optical characterization techniques: transmission of packaged and bare-die devices

■ Electrical characterization techniques: setting up measurements with electronics from AMOtronics

■ Tuning the analysis algorithm

■ Literature research, data analysis, presentation of results

Your Profile :

■ Master-student in electrical engineering, physics, material science or similar

■ Ideally with experience in electronic measurement equipment and optical characterization

■ Systematic working style, careful analysis of results

■ Fluent in both spoken and written English, German is a plus
