FMD QNC

Forschungsfabrik Mikroelektronik Deutschland

Förderer Funding Agency: BMFTR

Förderkennzeichen Grant ID: 16ME0832

The Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (Forschungsfabrik Mikroelektronik Deutschland, FMD) is a global innovation driver that, as the largest cross-location R&D cooperation for microelectronics in Europe, offers a unique diversity of expertise and infrastructure. FMD bridges the gap between basic research and customer-specific product development. The FMD is a cooperation of eleven institutes of the Fraunhofer Group for Microelectronics as well as the Leibniz Institutes FBH and IHP.

AMO GmbH is one of the actors involved in the modules dedicated to Quantum and Neuromorphic Computing (FMD-QNC).

Within FMD QNC, AMO has been succesfull with two projects in the first call of the funding scheme QNC Space, specifically with the projects:

MetaUV: Production of an optical metal lens for the blue/UV spectral range, together with the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt PTB.

UV-GC: Process development for a hybrid waveguide platform for the blue/UV spectral range, together with the TU Braunschweig.

AlNiWave: Process development for waveguides on sapphire, suitable for wavelengths from the infrared to UV, together with Fraunhofer IAF and the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt PTB.

Ion-QC: Fabricate test chips for photonic wire bonding at Fraunhofer IZM, together with the TU Braunschweig.
