What we do
At AMO we pave the way for innovation. We do this by selecting the findings from basic research that seem more promising for applications, and by doing research to translate these findings into technological solutions for today’s global challenges. Our mission is to share our knowledge and make key research advances available to university research groups, SMEs, start-ups and industry.
More than 30 years of research in nanotechnology: as a pioneer for new technologies, we act at the interface between academic and industrial research. Our core competencies are graphene electronics and 2D materials, nanophotonics, nanostructuring, sensor technology and perovskite optoelectronics.
AMO houses a highly flexible class 10 to 1000 cleanroom with a total area of 400m2. Here, we operate advanced fabrication-equipment for semiconductor technology with a high degree of flexibility to meet the demands of high quality nanofabrication, rapid process changeovers and unconventional solutions.
AMO offers comprehensive research and development services – from proof of concept to finished technology solution. Through technology transfer, we share the knowledge developed in publicly funded projects with industry. We help our customers put innovative ideas into practice.
AMO is committed to education and the development of young talent. To this end, we participate in funding programmes and enter into numerous collaborations. We support undergraduate, graduate and doctoral theses.
AMO supports technology spin-offs and young start-ups in establishing their business model. We provide guidance, access to a broad and well-established technology portfolio and offer laboratory and office space during the start-up phase.
